Gas flow meter is provided for the regulation of oxygen and fuel gas, which are isolated from each other. As an additional safety feature, each meter incorporates a check valve in the piping from the meter outlet to the combustion flame spray gun, which protects against high back pressure that could result from gun backfire and prevents any possibility of mixing of the process gases. These check valves can be replaced if necessary
Flow meters can warn the operator if possible obstructions or leaks in the gas lines. The use of the sliders allows monitoring of the process gases for such an event. These indicators give an easy and quick check of process gas flow at a measurable distance and without the need to read the exact scale marking. Acetylene, hydrogen, propane, MAPP, and natural gas can be easily used. Users can use a gas flow meters with standard cylinders of compressed gas or with gas supplied through plant pipelines, or in combination. Whatever the source of the process gas
Applications of Gas Flow Meter
With the knowledge of energy consumption, measuring the instantaneous natural gas mass flow rate coming to the plant is important. The conventional billing meter only gives consumption over a fixed time period (i.e. monthly). on the other hand, a thermal mass flow meter gives the flow rate, as well as consumption; thus, it gives real-time feedback.
The common application of gas flow meter is listed below :
- Industrial Plants
- Oil & Gas Upstream/Production and Midstream
- Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Animal Waste Digesters
- Landfill Digesters
- Pure Gas Applications
Advantages of Gas Flow Meter
Its facilities with multiple buildings or processes place great value on an accounting of natural gas measurement because of its many benefits:
- Exposing great consumption value within a large gas feed mechanism
- Identifying leaks in fuel feed lines
- Evaluations of equipment efficiency
- Diagnosing process inefficiencies
- Promote conservation
