Metalizing is a bunch of metal coating processes that includes metallic or non-metallic coatings. In the metalizing gun fine metallic or non-metallic materials are deposited in a molten or semi-molten form to make a coating on a target surface. In this gun, the coating material can be in rod, aluminum metalizing wire, or powder form. Metalizing a gun is a version of the thermal spray gun.
The metalizing gun is being used widely in today’s industry as a maintenance tool for the repair and rebuilding of machinery. The metalizing process is also being to a great extent in the manufacture of new products and particularly for producing new corrosion-resistant materials. There are many uses developed for metalizing in the production of new products.
Metalizing is a general name that is given to a thermal spray coating process that is used for coating metal on any target product surfaces. The resultant metallic coatings can be used for protective, decorative, or functional purposes as well. These coatings are also worth being long-lasting, effective, and highly versatile. We are introduces some types of metalizing gun which includes flame spray gun, electric arc spray gun, plasma spray gun, high-velocity oxy-fuel, etc.
Metalizing Gun Process
Metalizing gun uses a very effective and easy method of metal coating. There is a heat source to melt the material which is in rod, wire, and powder form. And for this heat source, we are using some gases like oxygen and acetylene/LPG. And to propel the molten metal to the target surface we are using compressed air. There are some other accessories using like gun mounted stand, gas flow meter, air regulator, etc.
Advantages Of The Metalizing Spray Process
- To achieve insulation
- Anti-corrosion coating
- Low cost
- Long-lasting
- Pure metal can be sprayed
- A faster and more productive solution
