Working of Grit Blasting Hopper
- Recirculation and cleaning the abrasive shot are required to maintain a consistent cleaning operation. In conventional shot blasting machine & equipment after the shot hits the part the abrasive falls into the collection blasting hoppers under the machine.
- The shot is then carried by gravity or screw conveyor to a bucket elevator. The elevator carries the shot, removing oxides and other contaminants to an air wash separator located in the upper portion of the machine.
- A combination of baffles, strainers, and plates separate these contaminates which are ineffective during the shot blast operation. The cleaned grits are contained in an upper hopper (feeding-box) and are subsequently fed into the shot turbine by gravity.
- The recirculating and cleaning capacity of the abrasive media in each machine is related to the grit blasting powder used for the turbines. An incorrectly sized system will cause premature wear to the machine and decrease overall grit blasting effectiveness and shot consumption.
Portable Grit Blasting Hopper
The portable grit blasting hopper (equipment) works on the pressure blasting principle, consists of a blast generator. The Grits have filled at the top of the Grit blasting hopper when a machine is not working and the blast storage tank is not pressurized. At the top of the blasting hopper, a vibrating sieve is provided to sieve the grits filled. The Ball valve is down then grit will get transferred to the blasting storage tank of the shot / sand blasting hopper for blasting from the grit blasting hopper.
