The powder feeder uses rotating disk technology to ensure a steady flow of powder which is carried by a carrier gas (Ar, N2), while the closed-loop powder feeder weighs powder through load cells. The weight signal is applied as a feedback control system, ensuring very short stabilization time, active control by PLC, and continuous reading.
The supervisor software controls the powder feed rate changing the speed of the rotating feed disk. Powder feeders are equipped with displays for local settings, also Profibus, Profinet network connection is available for automatic remote control.
Airo Shot Blast offers customized and stand-alone powder feeder systems for flame Spray Gun, HVOF Gun, and plasma spraying and also for LASER applications. It is a feeder with swinging action whose delivery ranges from minutely little fixed quantity feeding to medium size hopper delivery.
